An evaluation of Aloe vera leaves gel with polypropylene mesh to repair of ventro -lateral abdominal hernia in rams

The presented article was designed to evaluate using polypropylene mesh alone and Aloe vera gel for hernioplasty in rams. Under the protocol of sedations, local anesthesia, strict surgical preparations, 10 cm experimental ventrolateral abdominal hernias were surgically induced twenty-four animals divided into two equal groups. Hernioplasty done with both first group remained without treatment considered control group. In second group, after leaf spread equally along repaired area, then skin subcutaneous tissues closed routinely. Clinical, Ultrasonographic, Laparoscopic examinations done. Clinically, all operative completely subsided hernia ring. Laparoscopically, results indicated less degree adhesion inflammatory reaction occurs treated at 45 days post-surgery. Ultrasonographic investigation 30 post-surgery exhibited Wavy echogenic representing effusion. It represented Hypoechoic muscle mass days, whereas tissue appeared normal echotexture a clear post-treatment. conclusion, compatibility between implant edges ring signs rejection, adhesion, opening closed. had beneficial effect during ram.
